The musical's protagonist is a contemporary high school student in the midst of a tumultuous time, who inadvertently calls upon ancestors for inspiration and guidance. And the ancestors come through! One by one, we meet these otherwise hidden figures, learn about the impact they made in their time, and the ripple effect of their lives and legacy today.
